All pages are reasonably short and written for novice users, or those who have had a PC awhile but never delved into "complicated" areas which sound too difficult.
References are to Windows 95 (all versions) and Windows 98 (Second Edition). There are differences between versions of Windows 9x. Please make allowances accordingly.

This guide is a response to encounters with PCs running Windows95/98 which have clearly never been given basic routine maintenance. No instructions are issued with them, so many users have never considered doing anything to improve performance at this simple level. It requires no expertise, and can be done by anyone.
The warnings included here should not put anyone off !
